Grading Policies & Procedures

Grade Calculations

In my classes, grades are assigned using a point system.  This means that
assignments are weighted.  For example, tests and projects will have a
greater impact on a final grade than will homework.  For most assignments,
points will be assigned as follows.

Class/Homework
                                  10-15 points per assignment

Quizzes/Labs                                       20-25 points
Tests                                                   30-40 points
Projects                                               40-50 points

If you have any questions about how a grade is calculated, please let me
know.

Communication of Grades

*On-line Gradebook-mygradebook.com is an online gradebook that you are able to access at any time.  It will be unpdated about once a week.  This inables you to check progress at any time.

*Mid Nine Weeks-A mid term progress report will be sent home for each subject area.  This report will show a student's grade up to that point in the nine weeks.

*Each Nine Weeks- A report card will be sent home to show a student's nine weeks grade in each class.

Policy Late Work, Make-Up Work

Late Work:

Late work is something that has gotten out of hand.  Instead of viewing this as a privalege, too many students are depending on this opportunity.  Therefore late work will not be accepted.  All work (homework and classwork) is expected to be completed and turned in on time.

Make-Up Work:

When a student has an excused absence, it is the responsibility of the student to ask for make-up work.  The student has three days after returning to school to turn in the make-up work and take any tests or quizzes that were missed.  All tests and quizzes will be given during the IS time, and it is the responsibility of the student to report to the teacher for these tests/quizzes.  If a student that has been absent tries to turn in work after the three days, the work will be graded following the above late work policy.
