Dear 8th Grade Parent(s):
Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! We are excited about having your
child in our
classes, and we are looking forward to getting to know you and your son or
daughter
better. Each student will receive a planner that will serve as a means of
communication and an assignment book. All teachers at East Literature also
have a
website that can be accessed through TeacherWeb.com and is updated on a
regular
basis with assignments, tests, and due dates. Different activities and
projects will be
used to reinforce the material covered in each class and textbook. Each
nine weeks,
your child will receive a syllabus in each class outlining what topics and
assignments
will be discussed during that grading period. We will also send home
progress reports
during each grading period. You can also access your child’s grades through
myGradebook.com as often as you would like.
All children deserve the right to learn in a safe and positive environment.
Therefore,
each student is responsible for his/her behavior so as not to disrupt the
teaching or
learning process. The following rules will be enforced in each classroom
and
throughout the school. Each child is expected to adhere to the following:
1. Be in class on time, prepared and in their assigned seat ready to learn.
2. No food or drinks (unless given permission from teacher)
3. Keep hands, feet, other body parts and objects to self.
4. Use kind words at all times.
5. Complete ALL work to the best of their ability.

We look forward to meeting you and partnering with you in the education of
your child
this year. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s
progress,
please feel free to contact the guidance office to schedule a conference or
contact us
directly at the extensions or e-mail addresses listed below. Our planning
period
begins at 1:55 and ends at 2:45 each day and we will return any messages
during this
time.
