Star Student of the Week Page While your child is the Star Student, each day of the week will consist of an exciting event or activity to honor him or her and to help us get to know our special classmate.
Monday: Star Spotlight
Your Star Student will share his or her Star of the Week poster with the class. This will help the rest of the class becomes more acquainted with your child. After your Star Student shares the poster, the poster will then be displayed out in the hall for the remainder of the week.
Tuesday: Favorite Book
The Star Student may bring a favorite book from home to share, or choose a favorite book from the classroom library. The student may read the book to the class, or ask the teacher to share the book.
Wednesday: Sharing Sack
Your Star Student will be given a sack for him or her to bring 3-5 items from home to share with the rest of the class. Your Star Student will then share these items with the class. Students are encouraged to choose items that have some sort of meaning (like a photo, an award or a special gift) rather than just a collection of toys.
Thursday: Lunch Buddy
If possible, plan to join your child for lunch in the cafeteria on this day. If you cannot make it, a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or sibling may attend. Because of work schedules, if you or a relative are busy, your child will get to eat lunch with 2 of his or her friends in the classroom.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions about the exciting upcoming week! You may reach me at school at 772-1233 or email me at grammerj@k12tn.net.
Sincerely,
Ms. Janet
