Who is eligible for the program?

Any child who turned four years old before September 30, is a 
resident of Macon County, and meets income or needs based 
criteria.

How do I enroll my child?

You may pick up an application at Fairlane Elementary. Due to 
limited enrollment, children will be selected based on identified 
need as required by the Tennessee Departement of Education for 
pre-k enrollment.

How many children are in the program?

We are allowed to enroll 20 children in the program.We are full 
at this time, however, you may contact the school to inquire 
about a waiting list.

How many teachers are there?

We have 1 teacher, Mrs. Evette Morgan and 1 full-time assistant, 
Mrs. April McKinney.

What are the program hours?

Children must be dropped off at 7:30a.m. and picked up at 2:30p.m.

Is transportation provided?

No. Parents must provide their own transportation.

What do I need to bring with me to registration?

A certified copy of your child's birth certificate (not the 
mother's copy), your child's socail security card, and your 
child's immunization record and physical (this must be up to date 
and signed by a health care provider).

Does Pre-K take the place of Kindergarten?

No. Your child will still be required to attend Kindergarten 
before going on to First Grade.

How much does the Pre-K program cost?

It is free.

What about the meals?

Your child will be offered breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon 
snack. You will be asked to fill out a free/reduced breakfast and 
lunch form. If your child does not meet the eligability 
requirements for free/reduced breakfast and lunch, you will have 
to pay. Breakfast costs $1.00/day and lunch is $1.75/day. The 
afternoon snack is provided free to all Pre-K students.
