Ms. Shelton:
I graduated from UTC with a Bachelors Degree in early childhood and
elementary education in 1983 and began teaching at Falling Water in the
spring of 1984. A couple of years later I went back to UTC and got my
Masters Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction. I taught first
grade my first three years at Falling Water, then I taught kindergarten for
13 years. I went from kindergarten to 3rd grade for a couple of years, then
jumped to 5th grade for 2 years before we began using the looping model for
4th and 5th grades. Since then I have been a looping 4th/5th grade teacher.
I have a son who is a senior in high school, and a "schnoodle"
(schnauzer/poodle)named Max. I enjoy church activities, traveling, reading
great books, eating out with friends and family, and tinkering with
computers.

Our mission for each class is to take each child from where they are
when they first walk through the door and guide them as far as we can toward
being ready academically, physically, and emotionally for the next phase in
their lives, Middle School.
