| This year elementary students at Stuart School are getting lessons
from the Second Step program as part of the classroom guidance curriculum.
Second Step is a violence prevention curriculum designed to promote social
competence and reduce children's social-emotional problems. It is made up of
units containing lessons on empathy, impulse control and problem solving, and
anger management. Family letters are sent home with the students from time to
time to help keep parents informed of what we are talking about and ways you
can reinforce this at home.
