Dear Families,
The kids in Room 18 would like to thank Brooke's mom, Mrs. Jones, for
surprising our class with a fall craft. Mrs. Jones read, "Red Leaf, Yellow
Leaf," explained why leaves change colors in the fall, and helped us make a
colorful leaf to be used as a window decoration or book mark. We really had a
good time! Thank you, Mrs. Jones!!
Let's talk multiplication! Your third grader is currently studying
multiplication and taking timed tests. It is extremely important that your
child be practicing facts with speed as well as accuracy. A booklet was sent
home to help your child practice and become successful. We are planning
a "Pile Your Sundae High When You Multiply" icecream party for students who
successfully pass their timed tests. (TCAP tests are also timed.) Good luck,
and thank you for supporting our third grade program!
Holiday pictures were sent home. If you do not wish to make a purchase,
please return any unwanted pictures. Didn't they look cute?
Our class will be going to the Christmas store on Tuesday, December 8th
if your child wants to do a little Christmas shopping!
Our class is looking for a Christmas tree and perhaps a willing parent
who would like to put it up for us. Let us know if you would like to help us
out. Also, we will be having a Christmas party closer to Christmas Break. If
you would like to volunteer to send in goodies, music, dvd's, read, or do a
craft with the students, just let me know.
Please continue to check your child's backpack and agenda for updates,
and use the links site on our webpage. Study those multiplication facts! Mad
Minute Testing is here! Check out www.multiplication.com on our
LINKS PAGE.
Happy Holidays,
Mrs. Keen
