Homework

A homework activity is sent home on most Thursdays or Fridays.  Please look for the activity in your child's folderThe homework must be returned by Wednesday of the next week (or earlier).  I keep a record of returned/unreturned homework.
 
Projects/other activities are assigned throughout the year.  Be on the lookout for notes home in folders about these projects.
 
Also be working with your child on the goals for the nine weeks.
 
1st Nine Weeks:
*Ties own shoes
*States full name
*States birthday (month and date)
*States address (street, city, state)
*States phone number
*Verbally tells letter names for: M, m, T, t
*Verbally tells letter sounds for: m, t
*Penmanship
*Prints first name (name is recognizable)
*Recites two nursery rhymes from memory
*Can identify colors: red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, brown, black, white, pink, gray
*Reads sight words (am, I, look, me, the, little)
*Identifies characters in a story
*Can identify shapes (circle, oval, square, rectangle, hexagon, triangle, trapazoid)
*Identifies numerals (0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)
*Identifies (counts) sets of objects (0-10)
*Sequences (puts in order) 1-10
*Identifies AB pattern (example-)
*Counts to 25
*Sorts objects by color, shape, and size
*Reads number words: zero-ten
 
2nd Nine Weeks:
*Ties own shoes

*Verbally tells letter names for: M, m, T, t, A, a, S, s, P, p, C, c, I, i B, b, N, n, R, r
*Verbally tells letter sounds for : m, t, a, s, p, c, i, b, n, r
*Identifies beginning sounds
*Penmanship (prints letters correctly)
*Prints first name (first letter capitalized)
*Recognizes rhyming words
*Reads sight words (I, am, the, little, a, to, have, is, we, my, like, he, for, me, with, she)
*Reads color words: red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, brown, black, white, pink, gray
*Identifies story setting
*Identifies numerals (0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12)
*Identifies sets (matches numerals to objects) 0-12
*Sequences (puts in order) 0-12
*Identifies AB pattern ( )
*Identifies ABB pattern ( )
*Counts to 50
*Sorts objects by color, size, and shape
*Determines more or less using a graph
*Identifies and knows the value of a penny
*Recites days of the week
*Identifies shapes (circle, oval, square, rectangle, hexagon, triangle, trapazoid)
*Reads number words (zero-twelve)
*Understands the concepts of measurement
