I graduated as Salutatorian of Gleason High School in 1994. I also played
basketball from 6th through 12th Grade. In 1998, I received my Bachelor of
Arts Degree from Bethel College. I also graduated with my
Master of Arts Degree in Education on August 2, 2008. This is my third year
of teaching after serving for 7 years in the Bethel College Admission Office,
first as a recruiter and then later as the Assistant Director of Admission.
In addition to teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Reading, I will also be
serving as the Assistant Coach for Gleason Basketball (Boys). This is my 3rd
year of officially coaching in a public school setting. My prior coaching
experience includes assisting with the Gleason Youth League basketball
program and being the Head Coach of a 1st and 2nd Grade Upward Basketball
team in McKenzie. My other school duties include being co-sponsor for Junior
High Beta Club and serving as the Public Address Announcer for Junior High
and High School football.
I have been married to Jennifer Eason Roney for 6 years. Jennifer, a 3rd
Grade teacher at Martin Elementary School, is a graduate of Hollow-Rock
Bruceton Central High School and also has received Bachelor of Science and
Master of Arts in Teaching degrees from Bethel College.
I enjoy attending church events and spending time with my family and
friends. Both Jennifer and I love sports.......especially
football and basketball. (Our favorite college team is the Tennessee
Volunteers.)
