I was born and raised in Gleason, Tennessee. I graduated in 1975 from
Gleason School. In 1979 I graduated from UTM and in the fall of 1979 I
began my teaching career at GHS. I taught Kindergarten for four years and
then moved to third grade. I have been teaching a total of 27 years. I have
a deep love and devotion to the town and the school!
I have been married to Roger Sawyers for 27 years and we have one
daughter, Lesley, who is a Kindergarten teacher at Martin Primary.
My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends, as well
as reading, watching sporting events, and shopping.
My mission is for every student to reach their highest potential, to
learn respect for one another and be responsible citizens.
