I graduated from Gleason School in 1983. I knew from about the time I was
10 years old that I wanted to be a teacher. I have been teaching at Gleason
Jr. High for 19 years, have been the Jr. High Cheer sponsor for 17
years, and Jr. High Student Council sponsor for 3 years. I love this
school, and the children I come in contact with year after year. My
favorite subject to teach is U.S. History. I especially enjoy teaching
about the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. I believe it is very
important to teach our children about the importance of patriotism
and the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of this great nation. I have been
married for 20 years to my husband, Keith. I have two wonderful sons that
attend Gleason School; Evan - 16, and Avery - 11. We stay very busy with
our church, school, and family activities.
My mission is for each student to learn something new each day, to have fun
while they are learning, and to learn to respect one another. I think it is
so very important that students learn to be good citizens at school, so
that when they leave this school they will become productive citizens
wherever they may make their home.
