About The Teacher

I am currently in my seventh year of teaching.  This is my second at 
Greeneville High School.  My first five years teaching were at Volunteer 
High School teaching Algebra I.  I graduated from Tusculum college in 2000 
with a degree in Accounting and Business.  I received a Master's Degree from 
Milligan College in Secondary Mathematics in July of 2004.  I just graduated 
from Lincoln Memorial University in July and completed the E.D.S. program.  
I am currently teaching Accounting I and Career Management Success.  I am 
married to Libby Reed.  We have a son Cooper who is 19 months old.  I will 
also be the Junior Varsity / Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach.

Mission For The Class

Career Management Success is a freshmen level high school orientation class 
designed to help students in thier transition from middle school to high 
school and after.  This course involves students exploration into real-world 
personal and profession decisions.  Class emphasis on goal orientation, 
personal growth, financial responsibility, and continuing education are key 
concepts which will be explored throughout the nine-week or semester long 
course.

Acounting I: This course provides an introduction of the field of 
accounting.  The principles of debit and credit, the accounting cycle, 
intrepreting, and recording, of business transactions, and the preparations 
of financial documents are discussed.  Automated accounting practices are 
used to emphasize and review the basic accounting principles.  The 
reasoning, organization, and decision-making skills taught make Accounting I 
a good course for any student planning a professional business career.

Introduction to Business:  The course is designed for students interested in 
acquiring intorductory business and financial information for personal use 
or as an inital course for students planning a career in business.
