Dear Students and Parents,
I hope that everyone enjoyed their summer break and looks forward to
starting school. My name is Gary Roberts. 8th Grade American History, High
School World Geography, and H.S. American Government will be my subjects
this semester. My coaching duties include high school and junior high boys
basketball teams. This is my fifth year at Greenfield High School.
Greenfield High School continues to make tremendous strides to ensure your
child receives the best education possible. The small town school atmosphere
is a source of community pride. I look forward to these teaching assignments
and getting to know you.
I would like to give you some background information about myself to
help you get to know me. I graduated from Westview High School in 1979. In
1984 I received a BS in Business Administration from UT-Martin. After
working in industry for three years, I returned to school to get my teaching
certificate. In 1988 I graduated Secondary Education from UT-Martin. In 2000
I completed my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Trevecca
Nazarene University. In 2007 I completed my 30 hours above a
Master’s through UT- Martin. I begin my twentieth first year of teaching
this week. My subjects have always been math or social studies classes in
either middle school or high school.
My classroom teaching is based on daily objectives, active participation,
student feedback, problem solving, reading assignments, computer activities,
and writing assignments. My goal for all students is that they will gain the
knowledge and understanding that give them the perspective and connections
between the past and the real world today.
