October is over and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We have just
three weeks before Thanksgiving and three weeks after until the Christmas
holidays. This year is flying by ! The second six weeks ends November 6th,
this Friday. Report cards will be going home the following week on
Thursday. Basketball season has already started for junior high. Our Jr.
Jacket football team finished as the county runner-ups. Congratulations to
them! We have 4-h on Wednesday, November 4th. The 4-h project is the poster
contest, and all students are required to do this. I will be giving two
grades (200 pts) for this project. Students have known about this since the
October 4-h meeting and it has been posted on the board in the classroom.
*We will be out of school on November 25-27 for the Thanksgiving holidays.
HOMEWORK:
Your child should be bringing home their planner that was provided by the
school with homework assignments in them. I am having some problems with a
few students not turning in assignments or saying they left theirs at home.
During the first six weeks I allowed them to finish it during recess or some
other time, but will not be doing that from this point on. They are not
allowed to make up unfinished homework in junior high as well. Fifth grade
is a big transition year, and they will have to get used to getting their
work done on time! Please ask your child to see their planner each night. I
will be asking for some parents to sign this each night.

with me by email, feel free to send me a message. I already correspond with
some of you already.
