Monday, December 7, 2009 Math: None-We completed a worksheet in class for a grade. We often complete the "Countdown to T-Cap" assignmments in the front of our books. Today we did week 7. It is a good idea to look ahead and make sure that you know how to do them as they are usually done for a grade. Reading:"Figures of Speech" booklet. I have given students the paper needed for this assignment. The booklet should be given a decorative title page (Figures of Speech). Each element should have its definition on one page and a depiction of an example on the next. The saying should be written on the bottom of the picture page. There are 6 elements: personification, simile, metaphor, hyperbole, alliteration, onomatopoeia. Spelling: Unit 16 words five times each. Test Friday! Science: 3 possible Science fair projects to choose from and a note from parents if you plan on working with a partner. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 Math: We have begun working on Greatest Common Factors. Ask your child to explain what it actually means to find the GCF. Also, ask them about "Great California Fires Start with Matches." We will work during classtime tomorrow on this lesson. Students will complete a worksheet on Friday for a grade. Spelling/Reading: No written assignments. Science: No written assignment
