I attended school in Harriman and graduated from Hariman High School. I
received a B.S. in English-Secondary Education from The University of
Tennessee at Knoxville. I have completed additional work at Cumberland
University and The University of Tennessee receiving additional certification
in grades 1-8. As a beginning teacher I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. I
have been at H.H.S. for twenty years. Teenagers still amaze me!
In addition to the mission for Harriman High School, our mission in freshman,
sophomore and junior English is to study all types of literature and make
connections to the world we live in now. We also want to prepare for
the "real" world by practicing our writing and grammar skills. Our goal for
May of 2009 is to have 100% pass the Gateway English Exam and 100% pass the
End-of-Course Exam for freshmen. Our goal in the junior class is to prepare
and do well on the eleventh grade writing assessment which will be given in
February of 2009.
