Grading: 1. HOMEWORK WILL BE CHECKED PERIODICALLY. It is important to do homework if you want to pass your class. It must be complete and ready to turn in at the beginning of the class period. Homework pages must have a circled number, the date, page number and problems assigned on the top right hand corner of each page. This will be worth 10 points of the homework grade. All papers must be folded lengthwise to turn in. Course, class period and first and last name must be written on the outside with the fold on the left. Start each new section on the front of the new sheet of notebook paper. It is the students' responsibility to get help if needed on homework. All problems assigned must be attempted to get credit. All work must be shown especially the given problem. A paper with answers only will not be accepted. 2. Quizzes and tests will be given. Quizzes will not be announced. Be prepared every day for a quiz on anything we have covered. On tests, work must be shown for credit; a correct answer only is not enough. On days of announced tests or quizzes, questions about test material will not be answered after class starts. 3. Nine-week tests will count 25% of the nine weeks grade. During nine-week periods with semester tests, grades will be weighted a little differently. 4. Bonus points will be given – details will come later. 5. All students will be given the same amount of time to complete a test. Classroom conduct: 1. No students are allowed to sit at the teachers desk. This is a restricted area. Do not take anything from the teachers’ desk or get into the teachers’ desk without permission. 2. No gum, candies, or drinks in class. Water only is allowed. 3. Only the teacher will operate the lights, air, heat, windows and blinds. 4. No sleeping or lying your head down on the desk in class for any reason. You will get detention. If you are sick, you need to go home. 5. Students must be punctual to class. If you enter the class room after the tardy bell rings you will be given detention. If a teacher keeps you late you must bring a note to be admitted. Just because you are slow is not an excuse. An excused tardy is still tardy... 6. Students will raise their hands and be recognized before asking a question. 7. Students will bring paper, pencil, notebook, calculator and textbook to class every day. 8. Follow all the rules listed in the student handbook. 9. DO NOT talk while the teacher is presenting the lesson. 10. No talking during announcements – you will get detention. 11.
