I am currently working on a template to make this an easier task to perform each week. I hope to have this up and running by early the week of August 25. Here is a short description of what we are studying and doing in each of my classes. To view the curriculum standards for English III and IV, please go to the State of Tennessee Education site listed under my links page. We also perform 3 minutes of physical exercise in each class period as required by the State of Tennessee. Acclerated English IV: We are reading and discussing Homer's "The Odyssey." As of Monday, August 25, students should have Books 1-10 read. They will hand in the questions for these Books for a daily grade. We had a test over the literary terms on Friday, August 22. English IV: We have studied Anglo-Saxon Period. A test was given over these notes. Because the students did not do well overall, a second test was given. The highest score of the two grades will be counted. The week of August 19, we began reading "Beowulf" and will continue to read until the week after Labor Day. A test will be given over this reading selection upon completion. Acclerated English III: We started our study of American literature with Indian myths. A quiz was given over this material and a group project assigned. We are currently reading "Of Plymouth Plantation." A open book/note test will be given on Friday, August 22. Next week we will read "A Narrative of Her Captivity" and "Sinners in the Hands of An Angry God." A reading check will be given at the completion of these reading selections. English III: We began our study of American literature with Indian myths. A quiz was given over this material and a group project assigned. We are currently reading "Of Plymouth Plantation."
