What mathematical formula is used to calculate the nine-weeks grade?

The average of daily grades (X) is multiplied by 4 and the nine-weeks exam 
grade (Y) is added and this is divided by 5.
Nine-weeks average is 4X + Y /5.

What mathematical formula is used to calculate the semester grade?

The first nine-weeks grade (A) is added to the second nine-weeks grade (B) 
and divided by 2.  This number is multiplied by 4 and added to the nine-
weeks exam grade (Y).  This number is divided by 5.

[(A+B/2) x 4] + Y/5
