                                                                                                  April 15, 2009

Dear Alumni & HHLS families,

Heavenly Host Lutheran School began in August, 1993, as a single preschool class, continuing to become the busy early childhood center (HHECC) and K-8 school (HHLS) we are today, serving more than 160 students and their families during this 2008-2009 school year. Dedicated to the cause of Christ and Christian education, during these 15 years we have been privileged to serve many young people and their families, teaching sound academic principles while instilling the spiritual principles and moral foundations necessary for a successful Christian life.

In celebration of our 15th anniversary, Heavenly Host Lutheran School is hosting a benefit concert by popular singer, songwriter, and humorist, Don Wharton. On Friday, May 1, beginning at 6:30 P.M. in the Derryberry Hall Auditorium on the TTU campus, not only will we be celebrating our 15-year milestone, we will also celebrate our recent accomplishment of accreditation by National Lutheran Schools Accreditation (NLSA) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Tickets for this concert event are $10 each and may be purchased in the school office or by calling 520-3766; children five and under will be admitted free of charge.

The Don Wharton concert is also our spring fund-raising event. A group of our students will perform on stage with Mr. Wharton to showcase our school for community members in the audience. Students, teachers, staff, and parents are working together to present this evening of fun, fellowship, and inspiration. Included in the evening's events is a silent auction. Each class has put together a “themed basket” for this auction. A “school program” will be available, containing school information and facts, pictures, advertisements sponsored by area businesses who support HHLS, a list of our sponsors, and a special section of alumni testimonies. Information on becoming a sponsor may be found on the teacherweb page, as outlined in the next paragraph. All sponsorship information must be submitted to us by Wednesday, April 22. The forms may be mailed or one of our volunteers will gladly pick them up; call 520-3766. If you cannot participate in a sponsorship but would like to make any donation, we will be happy to accept your gift in the school office, by mail, or volunteer pickup.

We would love to have your testimony as a former student or parent of an HHLS student! It would be our privilege to print your words in our special concert program. To submit an alumni testimony online, go to www.hhlutheran.org and click on “school website”. On the teacherweb page, click on the e-mail icon, upper right-hand corner, and send us your testimony. Testimonies by mail are also welcome but must reach us by April 22. Sponsorship information is also available on teacherweb.

As you remember to pray for our school, also prayerfully consider how you can assist us in continuing our ministry. We hope to see many of you at our celebration/fundraising concert event, where you can reminisce and share past memorable moments with friends and teachers. Come and make new memories with us.

                                                                                                  With appreciation and gratitude,

Mrs. Trina Allison, Chairman, Fundraising Committee
