Notes from Mrs. Wickersham

Happy November!  We all had a wonderful time at Fall Ball!  Thank you for 
your participation.  We have a new 5th grader!  Welcome, Briahnna Goodman and 
family, Lyn & Mark Goodman!



THANKSGIVING BREAK
November 25, 26, 27, 2009

EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER IS OPEN on WEDNESDAY, 11/25!



THANKSGIVING CHAPEL
Our Thanksgiving Chapel service will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at 
11:00 A.M.  



Mrs. Nelms is practicing with our children for our Christmas Program.  
Remember to reserve Thursday, December 10, to attend our program.  Invite 
your friends and family.  Watch for further information.



School Make-up Photos are on Wednesday, November 11!  Dress code is full 
dress uniform.



Mrs. Wickersham has declared Monday & Tuesday, 11/23-24, "Out of Uniform" for 
Thanksgiving!



The Student Council will sell Out of Uniform passes for Middle School on 
Thursday & Friday, 11/5,6.  These passes are to be used on Monday, Tuesday, 
Thursday, Friday, 11/9, 10, 12, 13!  Cost is $5 for week or $2 per day.



The HHLS Eagles/Lady Eagles basketball schedule is listed on 
teacherweb.com/TN/HeavenlyHostLutheranSchool/Office.



The new lunch menu will be sent home on Friday, November 6.  Please return it 
with your check, payable to Sergio & Co., no later than Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Notes from Mrs. Wickersham:  Happy October!  We cannot believe fall is here.  
We have a new student in 6th grade.  Welcome, David Qiu and parents, Robert & 
Lily Qiu!  God continues to bless our Heavenly Host family!

GRANDPARENTS DAY and EAGLE RUN

Tomorrow, Friday, October 2, 2009, is our 2nd annual Grandparents Day and 
Eagle Run!  Call and remind your grandparents and special friends of our 
schedule and parking arrangements.  Our special Chapel is at 9:30 A.M.  5K 
Fun Run is on Saturday, October 3!


School Photos are on Wednesday, October 7!  Dress code is full dress 
uniform.  Make-up photos (individual only) is November 11.


NOTE ON BILLING

Please remember that tuition is due by the 1st day of the month; i.e., 
tuition for October is due on October 1, etc.  Please make your October 
tuition payment this week!  Thank you!  Late fees will go into effect on 
October 5; ECC late fees go into effect on October 10, due to late billing. 


The new lunch menu accompanies this newsletter.  Please return it with your

Our special Pastor Appreciation Day will be on Wednesday, October 21.  We 
will honor our Pastors on that day!  Watch for further information.



The HHLS Library is accepting donations of ALL used books.  Any books not 
appropriate for our library will be TRADED for books that we can use!  Thank 
you for supporting our Library!

NOTES FROM MRS. WICKERSHAM

Since our last newsletter in August, we have a new librarian, Mrs. Diane 
Jennings, who has a daughter, Megan, in second grade here at HHLS!  Welcome, 
Mrs. Jennings and Megan!  We are actively seeking a lunchroom monitor!  Thank 
you to all who participated in singing our National Anthem and “God Bless 
America” at the dedication ceremony for the new EMS complex. Please continue 
to keep HHLS, its students and faculty in your prayers!

Remember that pick-up time for mums is Friday, September 11, between 1 and 6 
P.M.



NOTE ON BILLING

Please remember that tuition is due by the 1st day of the month; i.e., 
tuition for September  was due on September 1, etc.  Please make your 
September tuition payment today!  Payments are considered late after 3:30 
P.M. on the 5th of the month ($25 fee).  September's tuition paid by 
automatic draft will be subtracted from your bank account on September 8, due 
to the weekend and holiday.  Thank you!

large or small.  Any gift you give is appreciated!



NOTE ON RAIN/HEAT DISMISSAL

Students in 4th-8th AND all siblings will wait for pick-up in the school 
hallway.  Students in K-3rd grades will wait in the church hallway!  Drivers, 
drive around as usual.  Thanks!


Have you heard about our R-2 program?  Ask your child to tell you like Whom 
we R 2 be!


HHLS Board meeting is on Tuesday, September 22, at 6:30 P.M.



CLASSROOM MEETINGS were held on Thursday, 8/27, and Tuesday, 9/1.  Please 
remember that if you have any questions about any aspect of Heavenly Host 
Lutheran School or your child's education, we are happy to help you!



HHLS will be closed on Monday, September 7, for LABOR DAY, and on Monday, 
September 21, for Parent/Teacher Conferences.  No school for students!




Please remember to sign up to work for Heavenly Host during Fall Fun Fest on 
Saturday, September 12.



Grandparents Day/Fun Run is October 2, 2009!  On October 3, 2009, we will 
conduct our 5-K Run!  Information packets were sent home in weekly folders 
this week.  Don't forget to send in your child's t-shirt size!  



Pastor Appreciation will be on Wednesday, October 21!  Watch for further 
details.



Please remember to supply all lunch items for your child(ren) on Monday, 
September 14, and Tuesday, September 15.  There will be no Sergio & Company 
school lunches on those 2 days.

HHLS Students K-8th grade are singing at the dedication of the new Emergency 
Medical Services complex – our new next-door neighbors!  Please bring your 
child(ren) to the school on Saturday, August 22, at 9:30 A.M.  We will walk 
over together for the ceremony which will begin at 10:00 A.M.
