On the left you will find links to assignments,
handouts and notes, and general class information. As a reminder, the
assignments are a plan that is intended to be followed throughout the week.
However, from time to time, we may spend longer than anticipated on a topic,
we may jump ahead if progressing well on a topic, or we may introduce a new
topic if needed. If you are absent, you may also check with the HMS office to
pick up handouts or other necessary materials that are distributed in class.
Many times we will conduct classroom activities that will be difficult or
impossible to recreate at home individually. In such a case, an alternative
assignment or information will be available when you return to school.
I would like to encourage all parents to sign up
for the Star Student Parent Portal. This program allows you to see all of the
grades recorded for your child for each of his/her classes. If you
participated in this program last year, your information is still valid and
will remain the same this year. If you are interested in receiving sign-in
information, please contact Susan Miller in the HMS office (e-mail:
susan.miller@blountk12.org / phone: 980-1300). One note about Star
Student--this program is utilized by all schools in the state of Tennessee. It
is not uncommon for it to be slow or down. This has also been an issue in the
past with teachers when trying to add grades during our planning time at
school since all schools in the state sometimes cause the program to "bog
down". If there is ever a concern about a grade that is on Star Student, or
that is not appearing on Star Student, please feel free to contact me.
