The 2009 - 2010 school year is my 10th year at HMS and my 16th year
teaching. Prior to teaching at HMS, I taught at the Loudon Co. Technology
Center in Lenoir City.
Born and raised in Tampa, FL, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree
from Maryville College in 1988 with a Major in Biology and a Minor in
Chemistry. Later, I finished my training to be a teacher. I received both my
Masters degree (Curriculum & Instruction) and my Educational Specialist degree
(Education Administration & Supervision) from Lincoln Memorial University in
1998 and 2000.
My beautiful wife and 5 children are a great joy to me, and keep me
quite busy when I'm not at school.
Throughout the year, we will be covering a wide variety of science topics -
from earth science to the human body. While a proper understanding of each
topic covered is an important goal, I also hope to see my students thinking
like scientists...observing, questioning, and testing the things they see
around them.
