FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
How do you calculate your grades? Chemistry: Daily Work 20%, Labs 20%, Quizzes 20%, Tests/Projects 40% A&P: Homework 10%, Labs/Lab Practicals 40%, Tests/Quizzes 50% What if I don't turn in homework on time? I assign homework regularly and expect it to be passed in on time. However, I also want you do it, for your own sake as well as the sake of your grade. Therefore, homework can be turned in up to four days late to receive some credit. 1 point out of 5 will be deducted for each day it is late. In A&P, most homework is worth 20 points. Each day late, 10% is deducted. What's the deal with these chemistry projects, anyway? In chemistry, I try to assign one project each nine weeks. It is a test grade, and not completing it will probably keep you from passing for the quarter. Ample time is given for the projects, and they generally ask you to think outside the box--more creatively or analytically than we normally get to in our everyday classwork. And believe it or not, it can be fun! What's the best way to keep Mr. Bryant from teaching? During baseball season, talk about the Red Sox. During football season, talk about the Patriots or the University of New Hampshire football team. These days, talking about soccer also works. Many other things will do, but those are surefire delaying tactics! I don't understand my homework. What do I do? Come for extra help; schedules should be posted on the website and on the whiteboard outside room 122. If that fails, consult some of the homework help pages on the "Links" section of the website or talkto me during class. If you can't do that, send me an email at mbryant@scsk12.org. I'm all too accessible! (But don't call me at home, please) It's Mr. Dude to you, and that's not a question. But thanks! |
