Xap.com is a national database which makes it easy for students to research and apply to colleges in Tennessee as well as 33+ other states.  Students can send their own transcripts to schools they are applying to for

up to seven years after graduation!

 

 

Set up an email account at hotmail, gmail, or yahoo that has a name you would feel comfortable sharing with your counselor and colleges and universities in which you may be interested.  Check this email frequently to make sure you do not miss any important information from colleges, scholarship searches, etc.  Use this email address when you register at the College for TN site. 

 

 

Step 1 - Go to http://www.collegefortn.org

 Step 2 - In the top right-hand corner of the home page, click the Create an Account link.

Step 3 -  You will be taken to screen 1 of 3.  Enter the requested information

 

When choosing a username, please choose a username you would feel comfortable sharing with your counselor and colleges and universities in which you may be interested.  Once you have selected your user name and password, please write it down in a secure place so you can find it if you forget it.

 

When you have completed Screen 1, click the Next button at the top of the screen.

 

Step 4 - Complete the requested information on screen 2.

 

You Must add your counselor to your account.  Please enter in your counselor's name and email address to the Add Your Counselor section on Screen 2.

When you have completed Screen 2, click the Next button at the bottom of the screen.  Congratulations!  You have successfully created a CollegeforTN account.

 

Step 1- On the top center of the home page, click the Select A School tab.

 

Step 2- Click on the Comparative View link (you will want to review the other links later).

 

Step 3- Using UTC as an example, scroll down to University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and click on the school name.

 

Step 4- Let's review the information on UTC

 

Step 5- At the top right of the UTC screen, under Options, click Undergraduate Applications

 

Step 6- Look over the instructions and at the bottom of the screen click on Begin Application

As you can see, the demographic information you filled out when you set up your account has been transferred to the application.  When you are ready to submit your application you will click Next at the bottom of the screen and continue until complete.
