Comparing objects by Weight (Mass)

Notes and Reminders

Student of the Week: This week we will learn more about Ethan Griggs. Enjoy a
journal story he has written on the back of our note.

I received a great report form the substitutes that taught for me while I was
at a conference in Nashville. I always an thrilled to return from being out
and know that things have gone well with the class. I know that the dance was
wonderful and I am sure all enjoyed the production.

Christmas activities offer lots of family fun as well as at school. We will
do many different things that offer a variety of fun. Please look at the
following list of activities and take note in the things you can do to help
our room during the Holiday Season:

Gingerbread Houses - Making a school version of the famous gingerbread houses
will be done in our room this year. $1.00 from each student will provide the
candies, cookies and frosting for the activity. Please send your child’s money
marked for gingerbread houses.

On December 15th, 2:15 pm, parents will be needed to assist us in decorating
the houses that afternoon. Any parent that wishes to come will be welcome
and put to work during this fun task of decorating our houses.

Stocking stuffers - I have purchased each student a stocking that we will fill
with gift items for each other. Instead of drawing names or having a gift
exchange, students will share little items with each other that will be placed
in their stockings. Items that your child would like will do great for the
class. Little party prizes, stickers, pencils, seasonal trinkets are always
fun to get!!! Please send enough for 18 by Dec. 15th. We will open them on
the 17th.

Little Elf Tea Party - Dec. 16th - for our Christmas treat party, we will eat
tiny treats that students bring from home. Treats that you might send would
be mini muffins, sandwiches that have been cut with a Christmas cookie cuter
or quartered, cheese squares, small crackers, washed and cut fruit, mini
doughnuts, small cookies, etc. Notice everything is to small! Please send
items for the party on Dec. 16th, in non-breakable containers please.

Christmas Band Concert - during during the last week of school before our
break, the RCHS Concert Band will give a special performance to use at KES.
The date will be announced this week due to scheduling problems at the high
school.

Polar Express Morning, Dec. 18th, students may wear bed clothing to school
that day as we read the story, enjoy hot chocolate and other activities based
on the book Polar Express. Please do not send children to school in house
shoes, but they may change into them once they are here. Be sure the pajamas
or night clothing is appropriate for school.

Dec. 18th is a half day for Roane County Schools. Dismissal will be at 11:30
that morning.

Thanks for all you do for our room! Your time, money, and help is what makes
our activities possible. Thank you very much.
