Homework

MULTIPLICATION FACTS:  Homeroom and math students are to keep a 
multiplication practice log each week. Be sure to practice the multiplication 
facts daily and complete the math log and have it signed by a parent.

THIRD GRADE TRASH ART PROJECT IS DUE ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 7TH.
SIGNED FIELD TRIP FORMS AND THE $9.00 due on MONDAY,the 7th.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4TH:  

THE MUSIC CONCERT: The children were wonderful in the concert. Thank you one 
and all. It was good seeing so many family members listening to the music of 
our third, fourth, and fifth graders.

RELATED ARTS:  Students did attend Related Arts after taking their spelling 
test over /j/ and /k/ words.

PIZZA FOR LUNCH: I treated the children to pizza and cookies at lunch today 
because everyone returned their early dismissal forms so quickly.

POLAR EXPRESS:  The students had a ticket to board the Polar Express as they 
enjoyed their pizza. The students will also created a class holly wreath 
after enjoying the Polar Express.

GUIDANCE:  Today was guidance for third graders.

SCIENCE (Mitchell's class) Quiz over the vocabulary studied this week.
                           Students discussed the Earth and landforms.

READ, READ, READ AR.




THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3rd:  CiCi Pizza Night
          
Students do not need to bring a lunch tomorrow, but they do need to bring a 
drink of their choice. I am treating them to pizza at lunch. They brought 
back their early dismissal notes as requested. It was very important for me 
to get these notes on file. 

Now I am in need of the field trip money and the permission slip giving your 
child permission to go on the December 8th field trip. AN IMPORTANT DECEMBER 
NOTE came home today with your child about all that is happening between now 
and December 18th. Be sure to read the note and keep it in a safe place for 
future reference. 

MATH:  Students finished Chapter 9, Multiplicaiton.
       Students reviewed for Chapter 9 Test.
       Students started on the Chapter 9 Test. It will be 
       completed in class.

READING:  Reread the story. 
          Complete Sequence WS. 
          Study vocab.

LANGUAGE ARTS:  Completed Language ARts Verb Tenses

SPELLING:  Students wrote spelling words in cursive. 

SCIENCE:  Quiz over vocabulary on Friday.


   

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2ND:  Dismissal forms and Santa photographs need to be 
returned this week.

MATH:  Students are to study X facts. Homework:  Worksheet 33

READING:  Read AR. Study vocab.

SPELLING:  Write a poem using the worksheet you were given. Be sure to use 
spelling words in your poem. Try to use 4 or 5 words.

LANGUAGE ARTS:  Students practiced writng dates and cities and states. 
Students practiced writing compound verb sentences. 

SCIENCE:  Students are to color their science notebook entries and to study 
the science vocabulary. They do not need to read Lesson 3 yet. Quiz on Friday 
over vocabulary.


TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1ST: 

URGENT REQUEST:  It is important that you complete and return the early 
dismissal form that was sent home with your child today. I do need it back 
tomorrow. The weather is starting to turn cold, and it is necessary to have 
this dismissal information. Thank you in advance for your help.

Santa Pictures need to be returned or paid for. I still have students who 
have not returned or paid for their pictures.

MATH:  Lesson 9-8 - Multiplying 3 Numbers Homework WS for 9-8
       Study the basic X facts.
       Practice up and down skip counting by 4's.
       HW =  Complete Subtraction WS

READING:  HW = RIVET/CLOZE WS
          Today the students reread story with a study buddy and completed
          a trifold worksheet for the story.
          Students reviewed vocabulary with an interactive site.
               
SCIENCE:  Students are to read Lesson 2 in Science.
          Students are to study vocabulary each day. Quiz on Friday.

LANGUAGE ARTS:  Students completed WB p. 35, Mixed Review.
                Students completed WB p. 36, Past Tense Verbs.
                Students completed WB p. 37, Future Tense Verbs.
                Students completed WB p.38, Combining Sentences: Verbs
SPELLING:  Students need to be thinking about a poem they could write using 
at least 5 of their spelling words. We brainstorm some more tomorrow in 
class. The poem is not due until Friday, the day of the spelling 
test.                
                








MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH:  

MATH:  Lesson 9-8 - Multiplying 3 Numbers
       Completed problems 1 = 21 in class.
       Study the basic X facts. Practice up and down skip counting by 4's.

READING:  THE NIGHT LETTERS
          Study the vocabulary words
          Read AR
          Students took the Unit 2 Benchmark Test. 

SCIENCE:  Reread Lesson 1 in Chapter 4 
          Study vocabulary words. Quiz on Friday.
          Complete the planet worksheets if not completed in class.
