FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents. How much homework will my first grader have? I give math homework and phonics homework every night that we have a lesson in that subject. When we finish a math chapter and have an assessment, there will be no math homework that night. Beginnning with phonics lesson 10, there will be a phonics assessment every fifth day and no phonics homework that night. Yes, you may. I check my messages frequently, since this is the way the principals and other school staff communicate with the teachers. If you're going to pick your child up early, or change their mode of transportation home, just let me know via e-mail. I will reply to let you know I got your mail. Reading logs will come home every Monday beginning on August 20. They will be stapled to the weekly calendar. Students are expected to read every night for a few minutes. On some nights they will bring home an assigned book to read, and on other nights they may choose what to read. This should be read to a parent, and the parent should sign their reading log and return to me on Friday morning in their home folder. |
