How can I help my child?

Read every night! 
Go over work sent home. Have your child explain it.
Sound out words on the word list that comes home each week.
Find sight words as you read books with your child.
Stay informed!

What do the children do in Guidance?

They have lessons on getting along with others.  The children have been 
working on a workbook that will come home soon.

Do you need anything for your classroom?

 

 If you have any clothes you think would be good for our 
housekeeping center, I can always use those to replace old worn ones.  The 
children especially like "fancy or flashy" clothes. Also, send oatmeal boxes 
or coffee cans.  We make Indian drums in November.  I have enough for this 
year, but will save what you send for next. There are always thing I can use 
for new teaching units, so Gift Certificates to the Parent-Teacher Store are 
always nice.  Gift Cards to a pet store would help me with taking care of our 
class pets.

May I come have lunch with my child? What time and how?

Yes, you may come any day for lunch.  Just sign in at the office at 10:15 and 
wait right there in the hall by the office.  We will walk by there on the way 
to the lunchroom.  You may join us then.

May I come read to the class?

Yes, any time.  Normal story time is after lunch, 10:45.  Just let me 
know a day ahead of time, and if I need to furnish the book.

Do Kindergarteners have to keep shirt tails tucked in?

We are not really strict about that.  It is just too difficult for this age 
child.
