I was born in Rome,GA,but spent most of my growing up years in
Hendersonville,TN. I went to Middle Tennessee State University, and recieved
a degree with a double major: Early Childhood ED and Elementary ED. I first
taught in North Carolina - second and third grade reading. I next taught
Kindergarten in an inter-city school in Baton Rouge,LA. That lasted a year,
and I went to a private Christian school, teaching Kindergarten again. I
taught there a year before coming to Lakeview in August of 1985. This is home!
I love Lakeview and the families I have been fortunate enough to get to know
through their Kindergarteners. If allowed, I will retire here.
After all these years, I have a child of my own entering Fourth Grade! Her
name is Lillian.
I live in this community, so it is nice to work close to home!
My husband runs the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters.
I have two step children,a son that is 29, and a daughter that is 23.
I absolutely love teaching Kindergarten. It is so exciting to watch a
child learn to read! And I love seeing past students and families as they
grow up. I have attended two weddings of former students, and held two
babies of former students. That really makes me feel old, but I love it!
My mission for the class is to give the students a positive beginning for
their school experience. I want them to begin a solid foundation in the
basics of education. I want them to learn to listen and follow directions,
respect others, and enjoy doing it!
