Your book report is due November 4.
Below you will find a list of the different parts of your book report. I
know you can do a GREAT job on this, but you cannot put it off. Start
today. Read the first chapter today! It will feel good to get started.
You should complete the form attached for your book report and add the Title
Page to the front.
Here are some guidelines:
1. Title Page – Cover Sheet – Design a cover for your book report.
Be creative. Use colored pencils (not markers or crayons)!
Include Title and Author.

2. List the characters, main and supporting.
3. Tell who your favorite character is and why, in paragraph form.
4. Give the setting of the book, time and place, in paragraph form. (In
your own words, tell me where and when the book takes place and information
that is important in understanding the story. (At least 1 Paragraph))
5. Write a summary of the book including some of the exciting details from
the story. (2 paragraphs – minimum)
6. Write a book review telling others why they should or should not read
this book. Describe things you like and/or dislike about it. (1 paragraph –
minimum)
Be sure to write in complete sentences and make your book report neat. (Make
sure each paragraph has 6-7 sentences.) Points will be taken off for
paragraphs that are not at least 6 sentences long.

#1 (Title Page) – 15 points
#2 (characters) 10 points
#3 (favorite character paragraph) 15 points
#4 (Setting – paragraph) 15 points
#5 (Summary – 2 paragraphs) 20 points
#6 (Book Review – 1 paragraph) 15 points
#7 (Return the book to Mrs. Capley) 10 points
Total 100 points (This grade will
count 3x)
Reports turned in on November 5th will lose 10 points. Reports turned in on
November 6th or later will receive a 0. Book reports are graded based on
completeness, spelling, grammar, and neatness. This must be completed in
your own neat handwriting. Do your BEST!!
