Do you use the Accelerated Reader program in your classroom?

Yes, I do.  The students are allowed to take AR tests in the classroom many 
times throughout the day.  The students will attend computer class once a 
week.  They will be doing various activities in the lab on the computer.

Is AR part of each child's reading grade?

No, I do not require the students to get a certain amount of points each 9 
weeks.  I do encourage my students to test over books as often as they need 
to.
Reading is very important, and I hope that each child in my class develops a 
great love of reading.  Please read with your child nightly.  I suggest at 
least 15 minutes each night.

How can I help my child with AR?

Please help them to learn to spell their middle name.  This is their AR 
password.  
If they need help remembering the title of an AR book read at home, please 
help them write it down.
