Counseling

 Mrs. Rampey is available most days for talking with children about any 
concerns they might have, that are directly affecting them with their school 
success. It might involve a school situation, or a family 
situation. I usually talk to a child from 15- 30 minutes. A parent can 
request that I talk to their child, a teacher can request, or a child can 
request.

Elementary school counseling is:
* A process of interaction between the counselor and student.
* Goal-directed with the goal being the student's positive change in 
  behavior.
* Confidential-the rights of students are always paramount.
* A learning process for students so that they will know they:
  -Have choices.
  -Can act on their choices.
  - Must take responsibility for their actions.
  - Must resolve their own problems.

Elementary school counseling is not:
* A quick-fix.
* Therapy.
* Advice giving.
* Judgmental.
* The counselor solving the students problems.
* Shared with others.
