Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. When are we ever going to use this stuff?
  2. I have always gotten A's, why won't you give me an A?

When are we ever going to use this stuff?

Most jobs you will ever have in your life involve many aspects of Algebra.
If however, you do not obtain one of these jobs, you will still need to use
this "stuff" to pass the next chapter test.

I have always gotten A's, why won't you give me an A?

You can get an "A" in my class! It happens frequently, but you must earn
it. To get an "A" in Algebra 2 or Intermediate Algebra 2, it is
important to work hard and score well on tests. However, the biggest part
of the grade is based on what you have learned, not how hard you work.
Example: If you were having a tooth pulled, who would you rather have
pulling the tooth? A dentist that tried hard to pull your tooth or a
dentist that knew how to pull your tooth by the best and most painless
method?
