Education is Foundation

¡Bienvenido! Welcome to Español Tres!

Objective: During the next few months we will be spending our time learning 
more about Spanish culture and the grammatical foundation of the Spanish 
language.  This will include learning to read, write and converse in Spanish. 

Requirements for this course:
Each student must have:
1.	three-ring notebook (at least a one inch) with five dividers labeled: 
vocabulario, apuntes, cultura/geografía, tarea, and práctica
2.	a Spanish/English dictionary.


Each student is required to bring all of his/her materials to class EVERYDAY.
Grading Policies:
Homework: all homework must be completed by the following class and turned in 
at the beginning of the class (i.e. when the bell rings).  Complete homework 
will receive 20 points, less than complete work will be graded accordingly. 
NO EXCUSES! 

The course grades are approximately 50% test and 50 % homework.  Thus, note 
that your homework can make or break your grade.

Grade Scale: (according to Wilson County)
93 - 100 = A
85 - 92 = B
76 - 84 = C
70 - 75 = D
0 - 69 = F

Make-Ups:
Note: tests are every Friday with few exceptions
•	All tests may be made up either before or after school the following 
week.  The student must request and schedule the make-up within three days of 
the absence with the teacher.  Failure to attend the agreed upon make-up date 
with out notice to the teacher will result in a zero score for the test 
missed. Again, NO EXCUSES!!  Tests from an unexcused absences are taken the 
first day back and the grade will not exceed a grade of 84% (in accordance 
with county policy). 
•	Make-up homework is due with in 3 days of the return from an excused 
absence.  It is the responsibility of the student to get assignments and to 
show completed work to the instructor. 






Classroom Rules:
1.	Be on time 
2.	Be responsible, respectful, and mature
3.	Obey classroom procedure
4.	Do as you are instructed
5.	Clean up after yourself

*Consequences for breaking the above rules are dealt with  as follows:
1st offense = warning; 2nd offense = 1 minute after class; 3rd offense parent 
and /or sponsor contact and 1 minute after class; 4th offense = referral to 
the principal

Tardies: 1st offense = verbal warning; 2nd offence = written notification; 
3rd offence = parent contact; 4th offence = referral to the principal
			
**A severe violation will result in immediate referral to the principal

*Rewards for proper behavior and participation may include the following:
	Positive feedback, coupons, material rewards, positive notes home; 
special privileges
