Education is Foundation

¡Bienvenido! Welcome to Español Uno!

Objective: During the next few months we will be spending our time building upon what was learned in Level 1 as well as analyzing the grammatical structure of the Spanish language.  This includes reading and speaking in basic context.

Did you know? According to The University of Tennessee, all students wishing to enroll must have completed two units of a foreign language.

Requirements for this course:

Each student must have a 1 ½  inch three-ring notebook with five dividers labeled: vocabulario, verbos, gramática, cultura/geografía, práctica/ tarea.

*A Spanish/English dictionary is highly recommended but not required.

Each student is required to bring their textbook, notebook, pen or pencil, and paper to class EVERYDAY.

Grading Policies:

Homework: all homework must be completed by the following class and turned in at the beginning of the class (i.e. when the bell rings).  Complete homework will receive 20 points, less than complete work will be graded accordingly. NO EXCUSES!

The course grades are approximately 50% test and 50 % homework.  Thus, note that your homework can make or break your grade.

Grade Scale: (according to Wilson County)

93 - 100 = A

85 - 92 = B

76 - 84 = C

70 - 75 = D

0 - 69 = F

Again, NO EXCUSES!!  Tests from an unexcused absences are taken the first day back and the grade will not exceed a grade of 84% (in accordance with county policy).
  • Make-up homework is due with in 3 days of the return from an excused absence.  It is the responsibility of the student to get assignments and to show completed work to the instructor.
