What is my child's homework?

Any work not finished in class.  Check agenda books on a daily basis.

What is AR?

AR is a program to help build students fluency and reading comprehension.  Students 
select books on their reading level on Tuesdays(library day).  We know that good 
readers read books at least 2 times.  After reading, students answer 5-10 questions 
about the story.  The points they earn depends on the questions answered correctly.  
Most 2nd grade leveled books are worth .5 (1/2 point).  We set goals each 9 weeks.  
Students reaching the AR goal get to go to FUN FRIDAY!  Students also earn special 
awards at Awards Day and get to spend their points (like money) in the AR store.  This 
is a great way to encourage and develop great readers!

When will you order books from the Book Orders?

I will order books one week after I send them home, unless someone has a special 
request.  (ex:  Book orders sent out on Monday, I will order the following Monday.
