We are off to a great start! Do not forget to be working with your child on their Multiplication Tables.
Once they have mastered one set, sign and return. Students must learn all multiplication tables, 1-
12.
Math- Parents please work with your child on subtraction with regrouping in all place values. This is
very hard for several of them to understand and it is important that they grasp this concept.

We had a wonderful time on the field trip yesterday! I think everyone enjoyed "Alexander and the
Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day". Remember: Parent Night and PTO night is tonight
beginning at 5:30 with make and take games. I hope to see everyone there!!

FIELD TRIP TOMORROW!! If you have a Byars Dowdy shirt, please wear it. Also,
we will be returning to school before our regular lunch time so we will be
eating in the cafeteria. They will make regular lunch choices tomorrow unless
they bring their lunch from home.

I hope everyone enjoyed their two week break. I feel we are back into the
swing of things within the
classroom. We have a Cumberland University student who is observing and
helping out in class two
days a week. The students seem to really enjoy having her in here and she
will become an active part of
our reading and language arts next week.
Our box top competition ends tomorrow on October 29! Please send in all box
tops! I sent home a few
box top sheets this week to be filled. If you are out of the paper, you can
send the box tops in a plastic
bag with your child's name on it and your child will still get credit for it.
Thank you to those who helped support Byars Dowdy last night at McDonald's on
231 South. We raise a
lot of money from our McDonald's and Zaxby's night.
We are going on a field trip on November 11. Field Trip notes and money ($9)
are due NO later than
Monday, November 9. We also need 3 volunteers from our class to go with us on
the field trip. The first
three to sign up will get to go with us. It is $9 for parents as well.
