This is my ninth year teaching the EXTEND program at Castle Heights.
Before that, I taught both 4th and 6th grade at CHUE and 4th grade at Byars
Dowdy. I also taught 4th-6th grade in Colorado before moving to Lebanon.
Besides my teaching degree, I have a B.A. in Music and Business and minors
in Theatre and Social Science and received my masters in
Education Leadership from Tennessee Technological University. I enjoy
participating in community theatre, riding my horses, playing softball and
tennis, singing and playing the piano. I have also taken up scuba diving in
the last couple years and have enjoyed diving with sharks, stingrays, manta
rays, and this summer, lots of sea turtles! I have been married to Joe
Weekes for 25 years and we have two wonderful children, Jenny and Trent
(both were in EXTEND in L.S.S.D.). In March 2007 I became a grandmother to a
future EXTEND student, Elizabeth Anne Pogue (Jenny's daughter)!
At CHUE, I am the Chess Club sponsor, Junior Beta Club sponsor, and drive bus #08-92.
