Our philosophy is a “modified” approach to teaching. As educators we feel it is
important to modify our curriculum to include ALL students. We plan our lessons
based on the premise that every student must achieve success. We strive to develop
and plan activities that are noncompetitive, challenging, and fun. Our goal at Byars-
Dowdy is to involve students in a variety of activities, with varied equipment, and a
continuum of skills to challenge students with varying levels of skill. We use a "try
again" environment and compliment, compliment, compliment!
