Time is flying by and we have officially closed another school week.

We finished Chapter 6 in Math this week. The students tested yesterday. They were allowed to
correct mistakes on their test today or over the weekend. Next week we will start Chapter 7. Skills
include multiplication of larger numbers. Please encourage your child to work on their multiplication
nightly.

In Reading we read a story called Dear Mr. Winston. It was a truly, genuinely : ) funny story about a
little girl who brought a snake to the library to research it. In the process, the librarian, Mr. Winston,
had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital because he is so frightened of snakes. The
students researched a reptile of their choice and wrote about it. They also worked with a partner to
research a specific snake. Each completed a circle map and then drew their snake in its habitat.
Finally they reported their findings to the class. Many students were not able to finish the test
because we had Health class during our reading time today. We will finish the test on Monday. Next
week we will read The Road Runner's Dance.

In Social Studies we finished learning about the early explorers and took our tests on Thursday. I
was very pleased that the student remembered so much and did so well. They were given an
opportunity to correct any mistakes on their test today.

In Science we learned about magnets and electromagnets this week. We took our test today. Next
week we will begin a unit on Earth Science.

In Language we finished our stories. Next week we will write another story and will incorporate our
language skills we are learning into the story.

We need the following items in our classroom: Clorox Wipes, Paper towels, group snacks, hand
sanitizers, and pencils.

Thanks for sending your children to school prepared to learn and have fun!!!!
