The grade in Art Appreciation is based on attention to class rules, participation, and following the outlined procedures of each art activity. Personal responsibility and group teamwork is important. Being on time with a pencil and paper and a teachable attitude means you're on your way to an A. We will focus on the True Blue Core Values daily because they will bring you success and happiness. Students are required to keep a portfolio of their lessons that they are allowed to take home to show parents. This is an art folder that is their grade responsibility. It will also be an effective communication tool if there is a question about school performance. Required is a folder with brads in the middle to hold notebook paper and two pockets for finished and unfinished work. Any color is acceptable because we make a cover as one of the first lessons. Students should bring their own container of art supplies to class daily. Markers, #2 wooden pencil, color pencils, eraser and a pencil sharpener are their responsibility. This is especially important for their hygiene in light of the anticipated flu season. Artsonia now features fifty five artworks created by our students. Watch the local papers for our press release! This is an excellent way for relatives to view artwork all over the world. Each family can order plates, t shirts and a wide array of products with the student art work on it! Our school earns 15% of all sales-which I will apply to more art supplies. Please register your child when you get the permission slip. Our students are going to be practicing the art of cursive handwriting. This skill has been recognized by our school system as beneficial for our students. We will study famous signatures, medieval illumination, and calligraphy.
