SACC |
Inclement Weather Schedule
Parents of SACC Children In our efforts to keep you informed, please let this
letter serve as a guide for what we do in the event of school cancellations.
Please call if you have any questions 449-7422
*School is canceled due to SNOW/BAD WEATHER - SACC will operate for all who need it at the following schools: Grades Pre-K - 4 @ Coles Ferry Elem. Due to the possibility that parents may experience hardships going to the normal entrance of SACC, located on the backside of Coles Ferry, we would like to ask that ALL parents come to the front entrance of the school. We will have a door unlocked and signs pointing to our room location for Byars Dowdy & Sam Houston parents.
Parents please note SACC DOES NOT cover for when school is deemed (1) or (2) hours late. It has been an established agreement with parents that SACC is ONLY an afterschool program. While we take care of students if they get to school and it is dismissed we want to make sure that it has been clearly communicated that the above situation is not covered by SACC.
Grades 5 - 8 @ CHUE. Hours of operation will be 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
We do ask for the kids to be picked up as early as possible so that staff can
get home safely as well. If the weather worsens after we open and it is a
danger for the children and the staff to remain, parents will be called and
asked to make arrangements for family to pick up their children. Please note
that an SACC worker will remain with the children till the last one leaves and don't
forget to send a lunch..
*School starts at 8:00 a.m. and is canceled due to SNOW/BAD WEATHER at 10:45 a.m. - SACC will operate at your child's school and lunch will be provided by SACC to all children if they did not receive it from the school before dismissal.
VERY IMPORTANT! Please note that due to lower numbers at Walter J. Baird
school, those students will be transported to CHUE to stay for the remainder
of the day. So WJB parents plan to pick up at that location..
In all of the years of SACC operation we have opened on snow days, this
will normally be the case, please note however that if conditions are
considered severely dangerous for the staff and children/parents to attempt to
drive in, the SACC will reserve the right to close. We ask for parent
understanding that this call normally has to be made the night before closing
or in the wee morning hours. It will be the SACC goal to inform our parents
with this information as soon as the school itself makes a decision. Please
look at your local news channels for this important information.
*School is closed due to overwhelming cases of the FLU/ILLNESS - SACC will be required to close as well. The number to call for school cancellations is: 449-6060 ext. 11 This information will also be posted on ALL local channels, but don't forget to look for Lebanon Special School District, NOT Wilson County Schools, we are two separate systems.
By working together through communications, we can make the process a lot less stressful... |
