This is my eighth year teaching at C.H.U.E. I live in Lebanon.
I have three children. My sons, Justin and Garrett, are 35 and 24 years old
and my daughter, Adrienne, is 25.
Garrett attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles his freshman year and then
transfered back here to MTSU, where he majored in political science. He is now a deputy county
clerk in Davidson County.
Adrienne graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville
and is employed as a middle school science teacher at the New Millenium Hmong Charter School in
Minneapolis, Minnesota. She just finished her masters degree in International Education at the
University of Minnesota and has accepted a job to teach science at the Thai-Chinese International
school in Bangkok, Thailand for the next two years.
My oldest child, Justin, is married to a lovely young lady, Tara, and they
reside in Smithton, Illinois. They gave birth to my VERY FIRST
GRANDCHILD on May 5, 2008 and are the most wonderful parents I have ever seen!
Teaching is a second career for me. I worked in banking before I discovered
the joys of teaching. I received my teaching credentials at Tennessee
Technological University, in Cookeville, Tn where I graduated Magna Cum
Laude in 2001. I have achieved "highly qualified" status, according to
Tennessee state standards, and I am licensed to teach grades 1-8. I
recieved my Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership, from TN Tech on May
5, 2007. In June of 2008 I recieved an administrators endorsement on my
teaching license.
To awaken young minds to the joy of learning while providing a safe,
nurturing, and motivating environment.
