This is my third year teaching ELL and my sixth year in the Lebanon Special School District. I enjoy
teaching and am excited about starting another school year. I love working with the students who
are learning English as a second language. They work diligently and are always eager for
more information. Having grown up in a bilingual home I understand much of what they have to deal
with.
During the school year we will be reading in the basal reader as well as many other supplemental
materials. I encourage my students to read.Last year many of them earned points in AR as well as
participating in special reward days in my classroom. Because many of my girls had read the Fancy
Nancy books we had a special party where they could all be just like Fancy Nancy. Not to be outdone
the boys read many animal books and had a Safari to Madagasgar Party. These events were held
during their lunch times and a great time was had by all.
We also work on writing, spelling, and grammar. Last year the students all completed a memory
book of their school year depicting events that they enjoyed during the school year. Also included
were pictures that were taken during these events.
For the upcoming year I hope to incorporate much writing and helping my students to use
technology in the classroom.
The class mission is to help all my students to be able to speak, read, and write the English language to
the best of their abilities.
