This is my 9th year teaching in the LSSD system. I began by teaching a 3rd
grade and K interim for a year. Then I taught 3 years of 2nd grade and 3
years of 1st grade. I am now excited about teaching my second year of 4th
grade. I am originally from Sparta, TN. I graduated with both my bachelor's
and master's degree in Education from Cumberland University. I still continue
to help coach volleyball at Cumberland. My husband's name is Steve McCarthy.
He is originally from England and played both soccer and tennis at Cumberland
University. He is currently working as a Pharmaceutical Rep for Johnson and
Johnson in Nashville TN. We are now the proud parents of a 6 month old boy
named Connor. Our white lab named Bella completes our family.
My mission for this class is to instill in your child the joy of learning. I
want to help prepare them not only for a transition into CHUE but equip them
with life skills. I want to encourage them to use their unique talents to
learn and to interact with others.
