Every night, students are to read their AR books. Students are to read books in their ZPD range and
acquire so many points by the end of the nine weeks. Comprehension percentage is very important in
that we want our students to maintain an 80% or higher in comprehension. The purpose of AR is to
increase their reading levels at least one grade level by the end of school. Please remember that the
Reading average for the report card includes AR comprehension and point goals. Lack of AR reading
will cause the Reading report card grade to suffer.
