Welcome

Maple Grove School was built in 1954. At the time it was built, it consolidated several one room schools. We are located in the eastern part of Clay County, cut off from the rest of the county by Dale Hollow Lake. This isolation has helped to keep Maple Grove open through the years.

Being the smallest public school in Tennessee gives Maple Grove many advantages over larger schools. Students, parents and staff enjoy the unique opportunities Maple Grove's small class sizes alllow. Teachers know their students very well and are able to give personal attention to help them address problems when needed and to provide challenges for students in areas where they excel.
Although our graduating eighth grade classes are very small (usually from 1-10), our students have achieved excellence in high school, in college, and more importantly, in life. Our students have gone on to become teachers, nurses, businessmen and women, and officers in the U.S. Military. Our former students bring their children back for a Maple Grove education.
