Reading: We will be reading the classic: Mr. Popper's Penguins. If you have
not personally read this book, please read along with your child. It is a
fantastic read aloud story. We will continue to work on skills such as
cause and effect, main idea and details, and figurative language.
We will also be working on writing and proofreading friendly and business
letters.
Spelling: Please check the spelling words column in your child's agenda for
Spelling words.
Math: In Math we will be working on Multiplication. We will also working on
line relationships, symmetry (line and rotational), types of angles,
measuring angles, types of triangles, congruent shapes, 3 dimensional
shapes, as well as area and perimeter.
Language: We are currently studying unit 4: Adjectives.
Science: We will be completing chapter 5 shortly after the break.
Social Studies: We will be working on Chapter 8. We will test before
Christmas break on this chapter.
Please check your child's agenda book each night and sign it when all work
is completed and checked. Remember that failure to sign the agenda will
result in a point deduction on the conduct chart. Any howework not
completed will have 10 points deducted the first day it is not completed and
will not be accepted after the second day. Please remember to sign the
conduct chart and signed papers slip each Monday
night.
Please be working on the memorization of multiplication facts.
