About the Teacher:

Welcome to the 5th grade - the best grade on Earth!!
I have lived in Martin my whole life and I am a graduate of the University 
of Tennessee at Martin.  I have a Masters in Advanced Elementary Education 
and a Masters in Education Administration and Supervision.  I am a co-
director of the West Tennessee Writing Project, Young Writers Clubhouse, and 
Young Writers Summer Camp and am a big believer of writing in the 
classroom!  Highlights of my career have been being chosen as Weakley County 
Teacher of the Year and Northwest Tennessee Teacher of the Year.  
This is my 8th year teaching and I look forward to coming to school everyday!

My husband Jason and I live in Martin with our 2 dogs Harley and Stella.  He 
enjoys playing golf and owns his own business in town, Sutherland Door 
Company.  I enjoy traveling, reading, exercising, walking the dogs and 
attending UTM football, basketball, softball and volleyball games!
